Accessibility
In short
- We aim to meet the WCAG 2.2 level AA guidelines.
- Some things aren't right yet (for example, parts of the card games with a keyboard).
- If something doesn't work for you, write to us and we'll give you an alternative.
This summary helps you find your way around; it doesn't replace the full text.
1. Our commitment
We want the Academy to work with a screen reader, with a keyboard only, with zoom, with reduced motion and on any screen size. Our target is the European standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
As a microenterprise providing services, Croatiapp is exempt from the requirements of Directive (EU) 2019/882 (the European Accessibility Act) and the Croatian law that implements it. We publish this statement anyway, because it matters to us.
2. What we already do
- Real text (not images of text), with enough contrast and sizes you can enlarge.
- Keyboard navigation and a visible focus on buttons, links and forms.
- Animations switch off if your system asks for reduced motion.
- Video lessons have subtitles and a full transcript of every lesson.
- Light and dark themes, and a design built for phones.
- The interface is available in Croatian, English and Spanish.
3. What isn't right yet
- Some games (card matching, the flip-through magazine) can't be fully completed with a keyboard alone or with a screen reader.
- Some decorative illustrations and cards don't have a full description.
- The YouTube player relies on YouTube's own accessibility.
We review accessibility every time we rebuild a screen. This statement was prepared on 1 October 2026 based on a self-assessment.
4. Ask for an alternative
If something doesn't work for you, email us at hey@croatiapp.app and tell us what you were trying to do and what you were using (screen reader, keyboard, magnifier…). We'll reply within 5 working days and give you the content in a format you can use.
